The Glades, Bromley
Travel Plan
Continuing the work started in 2005 we have further developed the partnership with Bromley Council and Seltrans (South East London Transport Authorities). The partnership now incorporates the London European Partnership for Transport, Transport for London, Creative Environmental Networks, Vipre (a transport consultancy firm) and the local newspaper.
The aim of the partnership through the travel plan is to raise awareness of sustainable ways to access the centre whether it be for work, shopping or leisure. The Travel Plan was launched on Car Free Day (September 22nd) with a series of events throughout the day. The Glades Travel Plan booklet, a handy informative reference tool for staff and shoppers, was also distributed on the day and is available through the Glades customer services desk.
The work so far has been principally funded by both Transport for London and the European Commission via the ASTUTE project. ASTUTE (Advancing Sustainable Transport in Urban Areas to Promote Energy Efficiency) sees 6 city partners in the European Union simultaneously overcoming barriers to the uptake of sustainable transport.
