Sustrans
Sustrans, as one of our CR community programme partners, have continued to work with us in the development of our Centre Travel Plans and other sustainable transport issues. Themed perfectly with our belief in supporting young people and promoting sustainable travel, we will provide the financial support to enable Sustrans to develop two ‘Bike It’ projects.
Bike It focuses on youth, works within communities and encourages sustainable travel to school. Where Sustrans has already worked to deliver Bike It, teachers have praised the outcome: children are energised, excited, ready to learn and travel safely and independently. The important contemporary problem of child obesity is tackled directly via Bike It. Work is now in hand to establish the project to be developed over the next three years at MetroCentre and Lakeside.
